Mildred Baena: Arnold Schwarzenegger's mistress breaks her silence
One month ago, it was revealed that Arnold Schwarzenegger had an affair with his family's housekeeper, which resulted in the birth of a child, now 13 years old.
Now, the housekeeper/mistress Mildred Baena is breaking her silence and speaking about her affair with the former governor for the first time in a sit-down interview with Hello! Magazine.
Baena reveals she didn't immediately know Schwarzenegger was the father of her son, but says, "It was as [my son] grew and I started to see the resemblance that I wondered -- but it became more apparent as time went on."
Baena worked for the family for over 20 years and says Maria Shriver approached her about the affair after she brought her son to the Schwarzenegger home and people commented on his resemblance to the "Terminator" actor.
"She would say things like, 'I'm here if you need to talk.' I sensed something was up," Baena reveals. "I have so much love and respect for Maria. Finally, she asked point blank."
After Baena confessed that her 13-year-old son was fathered by Schwarzenegger, Shriver was not angry, but compassionate. "She was so strong. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees," Baena says. "We held each other and I told her it wasn't Arnie's fault, that it takes two."
Baena says she's not angry with Schwarzenegger, who bought her house in Bakersfield, but rather feels sorry for him. "He's a good man and I know he's suffering too. He loves Maria. I hope with time they work things out."
Finally, when asked her son's reaction to the news that Schwarzenegger was his father, Baena says it was pretty simple: "Cool."
