Megan Fox: 'Hitler' remarks led to 'Transformers' firing
Megan Fox was an up and coming starlet with Angelina Jolie's career square in her sights until she inexplicably was not invited to return for the third "Transformers" movie, "Dark of the Moon," after starring in the first two installments.Rumor had it that Fox was fired because she and director Michael Bay didn't see eye to eye on set. But it looks like there might be a little bit more to the story.
According to Bay, it wasn't the behind-the-scenes drama that got Fox fired, but her comparison of him to Adolf Hitler. And, Bay adds, he wasn't responsible for letting her go. In a new interview with GQ, Bay says it was executive producer Steven Spielberg who had finally had it with Fox.
"She was in a different world, on her BlackBerry," says Bay in the interview. "You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven said, 'Fire her right now.'"
"The Hitler Thing" refers to comments Fox made in a 1999 Wonderland magazine interview:
"He's like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation," Fox told the magazine. "He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he's not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it's endearing to watch him."
Fox was replaced by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley when "Dark of the Moon" hits theaters on June 29.
Update: We've updated this story to reflect the source of the Bay quote as GQ.

A 1999 article?
Whole thing on Megan's firing was just silly. It was only an interview, and comparing the director to Hitler was just an opinion about bosses who refuse to bend, and have terrible mean personalities.
This is news? Of course she was fired - everyone has known that since it was announced she was replaced. You can't act like a first class b*tch to one of the biggest people in Hollywood and not expect it to impact your career. This wasn't the first time she badmouthed Bay and whether he deserved it or not, she needs to learn how to act like a professional. At least her 15 minutes are up - hopefully Rosie can actually act.
I'm actually impressed that Megan Fox was able to compare Michael Bay to Hitler in a 1999 Wonderland magazine interview - before she had met Michael Bay and before "Transformers" had even been filmed! The woman is evidently clairvoyant.
In 1999, she would have been about 13 years old.
Also, to compare her to Angelina Jolie? Fox and Jolie both look great, but Jolie can actually act.
1999 are you sure about this article, transformers was made on 2077......what gives?
sorry it was released on 2007.
correction it was made on 2007!
@ashlee
bay one of the biggest people, right...
and let's face it it's not like this movie requires acting ability. she looked good running towards the camera in slow-mo
It doesn't matter what the director is like; she needs to learn respect and to be courteous towards others. She shouldn't have referred to him as Hitler, that was really tactless and uncalled for. She shouldn't have been talking about him in such a manner anyway. It doesn't matter what Bay's status is in the world, she should not talk about anyone like that. When you make a mistake, you have to accept the consequences no matter how severe. Hopefully she'll learn from this and not make the same mistake twice. Transformers won't be the same without her, but I'm sure the movie will be great whether she is there are not. Hopefully her replacement can act well.
