Lynda Carter disappointed 'Wonder Woman' reboot fell through

GoogleMonday (June 6) morning Zap2it sat down with one-time superhero Lynda Carter (aka Wonder Woman) to talk about her latest project and her thoughts on the scrapped plans for a reboot of the franchise that made her a breakout star of the late 1970s.
Carter is in Los Angeles promoting her new album, "Crazy Little Things" -- a compilation of re-imagined covers of songs like Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," the Eagles' "Desperado" and Hank Williams' "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry."
While she was visiting the KTLA News Morning Show we grabbed the iconic actress for a brief chat. We asked her about "American Idol" after she told us about growing up with a desire to be a singer/performer and her start in the business while she was in high school.
"What a great opportunity," says Carter about "Idol." "Until 'American Idol' came along nothing like that existed. There's so much talent out there -- so many kids with so much talent."
We would have been totally remiss to let her go without asking about the failed attempt to reboot the franchise with Adrienne Palicki taking over the title role.
"I was really happy they were going to re-do it because the story is a great story and it needs to be re-told and go to another generation of people," she says. "I was really disappointed it didn't work out."

It wasn't a remake or a reboot (they are not interchangeable, by the way) it was a new show about the comic book character of Wonder Woman.
The first Wonder Woman was played by Cathy Lee Crosby, which didn't take off. So the lesson here is try and try again.
@Angela In most people's minds the TV show or movie is what comes first. Smallville, as far as lot of people are concerned, was a reimagining of Superman (1978). The Tim Burton Batman films of the 1980s were promoted in some places as updates of the TV series. The majority of the audience for a Wonder Woman TV series or movie will have never seen the comic book. They will, however, have likely seen Lynda Carter. Who, by the way, still looks fantastic.
The problem, with the "new" "Wonder Woman" was that it was too ambitious. Too much was changed. The costume could not have been more wrong, and that actress. In my opinion, Heather Hunter would have made a better "Wonder Woman". I am sure that the "Wonder" costume could have been tailored to fit Ms. Hunter.
There are other women that I could suggest, but I still believe that what "killed" the "re-boot" was that awful costume. This, I will, always, believe.
