LeBron James' girlfriend Savannah Brinson in off-court drama with Rashard Lewis

Perhaps looking for an excuse for his mediocre performance in the last two games of the NBA Finals, many are speculating that Miami Heat forward LeBron James is embroiled in some off-court drama with girlfriend Savannah Brinson and another NBA player.

Several gossip sites recently reported that Brinson, James' high school sweetheart and mother of his two children, had an affair with Washington Wizards forward Rashard Lewis.

Not so, apparently. With the rumors hitting critical mass following the Heat's loss to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5, Lewis called into Houston radio station 97.9 The Box to set the record straight.

"Those rumors are 100 percent false," Lewis tells The Box. "I don't know how they came up."

He's also quick to empathize with his colleague, who's under a lot of scrutiny for only scoring 11 points in game four and 17 points in game 5.

"If anything, they need to let the man play," Lewis adds. "He's trying to win a championship, and putting out all of this negative stuff about him will mess with his head. They need to leave the man alone."

But back to the Brinson rumors, does Lewis even know LeBron's girlfriend? He tells the radio station that they've never even met.
