Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery make their Grand Ole Opry debut
"American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina made their debut at the Grand Ole Opry Friday night (June 10). The audio is below, set into a YouTube video of a picture of each Idol.Lauren took the stage first and sang "Blue" by LeAnn Rimes - wow. We wish she had done this song during the season, it sounds absolutely great on her voice. It's also adorable how nervous and excited she is. After "Blue," Lauren sings "Like My Mother Does," her coronation single.
Scotty was next and he sang his coronation single "I Love You This Big" and George Strait's classic "Check Yes or No."
What do you think, Idol fans? We think it's great these two country fan kids get to live out their dream of singing at the Opry.

LOVE Scotty, and hope he succeeds big time. He reminds me a lot of Clay Aiken way back when.
Lauren still looks nervous on stage, but she did all right! Never liked her much during the season though, as she appeared to be a pageant princess, whom no one wanted to critique honestly. She got all the support. Haley was super, and should have been runner up, with James third, in my opinion. James was excellent on ballads, but his manic behavior, above and beyond his affliction, and his screams did him in.
All in all, it was a great season.
I listened to both online. They both did very well. Lauren will be great when she develops a little more confidence.
Scotty Rocked as usual. Such a natural talent he has for entertaining. America got it right this season. You go Scotty.
And, I wish them both all the success in the world.
SCOTTY is the American Idol and deserved to win because he is the best! He owns the stage. His performance was awesome!
They should consider it an honor to perform on the Opry stage and this shows they're going places, with the right people behind them and they don't let success get to their heads.
I ditto Heather's comments and add Lauren was a Southern Fried Mess. She didn't deliver even though she had better songs to work with than Scotty...Never been that wild about ILYTB and not my fav of G. Strait's songs for Scotty but he sounded professional. Lauren's performance not worthy of Opry. Average for Karaoke. Haley,James and most of top 12 more talented even though country music is my fav.
are they dating right now scotty and laurens? i love them both
Lauren was so awesome! ! ! I love her voice. Scotty is awesome period.
I think Scotty is the real deal. I was having Scotty withdraw since the finale, but got my fix listing to his Opry performance. He is really good at 17 and such a sweet boy. Just wait until he matures and is 27, he will be KING. I also agree with Heather. Although I could not bare to listen to Lauren ever again.
Lauren was awesome on the last song. But Scotty is just average. I dont get the whole awesome with Scotty. He cant hit a single note. He just sings the exact same with a deep voice. NO RANGE :(
Lauren's first song was embarrasing
