Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery duet on 'Today Show'

"American Idol" may be over, but the whirlwind aftermath is just beginning for winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina. They stopped by the "Today Show" Summer Concert Series Thursday (June 2) to perform their "Idol" singles, but they also dueted on Randy Travis' 1988 hit "I Told You So" and frankly, it was awesome. Video above.
In between the songs, the two denied the romance rumors ("Friendship," says Scotty, "We're BFFs," echoes Lauren) and credited their moms for all that they do.
"I wouldn't have made it this far without my mama here. She's been great for me, really," says Scotty.
"My mom's my best friend. She sticks with me through everything and I give her a hard time sometimes, but no matter what, she's always there," says Lauren.
Lauren also says that their new-found fame is not going to change them because of their faith in God. "It's our faith in God because we are the same people we were before this competition and we'll always be the same people. We're smalltown people, ya know?"

Awesome performances by Scotty on I Love You This Big and the duet. They are absolutely adorable. They tried really hard to not stare at each other too long during the duet because of all the rumors about dating. That's just silly. They are 17 & 16. Let's let them have some fun for heaven sakes.
These two are going to break all sales for country records. The greatest thing about them besides their voices is their love for God and their respect for their mothers. My goodness, millions of teens could sure use their example to follow. God will greatly bless them both because they are not ashamed to say before men, that they owe what they are to Jesus. Take note young folks, take note!!!!
The first time they sang this song on idol it was AMAZING.. there was such a connection and lauren alaina just glowed around him! Now even though at times she still shows that she is his biggest fan that sparkle is dying out. they used to hug and be natural, now they seem strained and very cautious. NOTE to SCOTTY: I have NEVER kissed my brother like that! NOTE TO LAUREN ALAINA: who are you trying to convince sweetie? your fans or could it just maybe be you? please make your music together before it all fizzles and is "GONE" (keep praying together)..

I think that both of these kids will do very well in the future. They both have great voices and I can see them both becoming superstars in the country field. As for their relationship, if there is one, I would imagine that American Idol has told them to keep it out of the public eye, besides being young, they are too new in the business, and they would lose alot of young fans if the relationship became public.
