Keanu Reeves: 'Sad Keanu' meme inspires book
Remember "Sad Keanu" -- the series of photos that hit the web in 2010 in which a downcast Keanu Reeves was PhotoShopped into a series of ironic photos? No -- well, here's a refresher. Apparently Reeves himself found the infectious Internet meme funny -- funny enough to inspire him to write his own book.
We use the term "write" loosely -- according to the "New York Daily News" Reeves' "Ode to Happiness" is a collection of inkblot paintings by Los Angeles-based artist Alexandra Grant accompanied by depressing statements from Reeves, like "I draw a hot sorrow bath" and "In my despair room."
While Reeves first wrote the book as a joke, it was soon in high demand. And so the "Matrix" actor found a publisher to create a limited run of 4,000 copies. According to the Daily News, they've only been offered for sale in the U.K. so far.
Up next for Reeves? Another book: "Haikus of Hope."
"Basically like, 'I want to kill myself', and go from there," Reeves explains.
