Kate Middleton's wedding dress, tiara, cake to go on display
Fans of Kate Middleton's (aka the Duchess of Cambridge) wedding dress should start making plans now to see it, along with the accessories -- including a diamond tiara -- she wore for her April 29 nuptials to Prince William, in person. The entire ensemble is scheduled to go on display at London's Buckingham Palace from July 23 to Oct. 3, according to People.
Middleton's dress, designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, drew a universal thumbs up and immediately inspired scads of knock offs. The real deal will be available for public ogling along with the tiara (a present from Queen Elizabeth), diamond earrings, veil and satin and lace shoes she wore on her wedding day.
Not a fan of princess wear? Take heart: the Rolls-Royce Phantom VI and 1902 State Landau coach that carried Kate to and from Westminster Abbey will also be part of the exhibit. And, foodies, this one's for you: The Fiona Cairns's designed cake (which we hope has been artificially preserverd) that Kate and Wills actually cut into with a sword will be on display in the royal dining room.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to give members of the public the opportunity to see, close-up, the skilled British craftsmanship that went into various elements of the wedding," a royal spokesperson tells People.
