Kate Middleton's Garter Day Hat: Yay or Nay?

kate-william-garterday.jpgAs the bride, Kate Middleton kind of missed out on all the crazy hat fun at the royal wedding, going for the traditional tiara-veil combo for her four-minute walk down the aisle. She got her chance to rock quite the fascinator at the Garter Day celebrations.

Middleton's headpiece, a Philip Treacy design, wasn't quite as enormous as her stepmother-in-law's, but it did make a statement, matching perfectly with her grey dress and coat.

Her husband, Prince William, wore a feather in his cap, as did the rest of the Knights of the Garter as the Garter "installed" two new members.

What do you think of Kate's cap?

Love it! It goes with her outfit, and she wears them well.

I just don't understand why these things get called hats (I know they do fit the definition of a hat); they seem more like headpieces to me. I think they're weird and often overblown.

maybe she was jealous of all the coverage Princess Beatrice's (or Eugenie's?, i can't remember which one) got on her wedding day. so she said ME TOO!!

Love it!

She's a doll, and anything would look great on her, but I wish she'd eat something besides her fingernails.
