James Franco solidifies renaissance man status: Becomes a fashion photographer

Is there anything James Franco Already an established actor, scholar and artist (to name a few), Franco tries his hand as fashion photographer for ELLE magazine. The actor, who played James Dean in 2001, shot models Agyness Deyn, Natalia Bonifacci and Imogen Poots for a "Rebel Without a Cause" themed series.
Stephen Frailey, the BFA Photography department chair at New York's School of Visual Arts spoke with Stylelist to analyze Franco's photo skills.
"I certainly appreciate his energy and his ambition," he says. "But they lack originality. They're very familiar both in terms of style and narrative."
Adding, "If we make an analogy to acting, he's not embodying the part. He hasn't really found his voice. It's like amateurish acting, if you're supposed to play a rebellious character you come out on stage in a leather jacket and sunglasses, as opposed to finding something of substance and authenticity."

He obviously had help. And he's usually pretty open about how many collaborators he utilizes. I think it's impossible to judge. Was Terry Richardson looking over his shoulder the entire time?
As far as renaissance man status, he's still pretty far from establishing anything resembling. He dabbled in all the arts, true, but that's not really the whole of being a true polymath.
I love the top one! but the rest are a little unoriginal.
I think the 4th one, the black and white, is the most original. They are all good photos though and with more experience he will be really good at.
