Is 'Gilmore Girls' star Scott Patterson 'horrible' to work with? Amy Pietz says yes
"Nine Lives of Chloe King" premieres Tuesday night on ABC Family, and one of its stars, Amy Pietz, has done plenty of press about how much she loves her new gig. In fact, she says that playing mom to 16-year-old Chloe eased her transition when she recently became stepmother to a 16-year-old. There's another reason why she loves working on "Chloe King" so much... her co-stars are plenty of fun to work with. "I spot stars a mile away and stay away from projects that have horrible people involved. I just can't physically do it," she tells NY Post's PopWrap. "I have no censor button and I'm rebellious by nature."
This rebellious nature is what makes her quick to point the finger at one difficult actor, her former co-star Scott Patterson, best known as unlikely leading man Luke on "Gilmore Girls."
"As great as 'Aliens in America' was, the guy who played my husband was ... horrible," she says. "And I don't mind saying that in public. And that experience was one I never want to repeat, so now I'm doubly careful."
Years ago, there were rumors that Lauren Graham and Patterson didn't get along well on the "Gilmore" set. In a 2005 interview with TV Guide, Graham admitted that they weren't best friends, but said that it hadn't caused problems at work. "We're not intimates. We talk kind of how we talk [on the show]. We work well together," she said. "It's a very happy set. It's a very functioning, working set, and I think some of that is helped by us having a little bit of a life outside. But I'm here an average of 50 hours a week, so there isn't a lot of socializing for any of us."
Patterson was most recently seen in "The Event" and as Liam's shady dad on "90210."
We'll just be over here, pretending that Stars Hollow is real and that Luke and Lorelai have 1.5 kids and a bunch of little puppy Paul Ankas by now. And he makes her Santa burgers every year. And Rory visits all the time. And April Nardini was eaten by a shark and nobody missed her.

I've worked on the Gilmore Girls set and I can tell you it was the WORST set I've ever been on. The absolute rudest people in Hollywood worked on that show. Lauren Graham being (and still) one of the worst people to work with.
Love the last line from the article, so true. As for Scott, he will always be the great Luke Danes to me and I don“t care for the rest.
@Katie - were you extras?:P
Speaking of fictional Stars Hollow, Lorelai and Luke are in deep denial if they decided to have kids. They are NOT a good couple. Not even an OK one.
Luke and Lorelai were a terrible couple. It's no one's fault (certainly not Amy Sherman's) they didn't work once they got together.

I love this paragraph.
Katie, you are incredibly and sadly mistaken about one thing. I'm not sure what miniscule function you think you performed on GG, but MANY long-standing wardrobe and crew members who worked on GG for years have said how great Lauren is. One even got upset on twitter because of an accout that was falsely impersonating her on that site. Oh yeah, and her castmates are still close to her. A couple even went to Broadway to see her perform. The Parenthood cast has a lot of tweeters, and they are constantly saying wonderful things about Lauren. She's very close to her family, especially her dad. Obviously, you are barking up the wrong tree. Amy Pietz said this about Scott, NOT Lauren. By the way, Amy has worked with Lauren as well - on Caroline in the City. I don't see her calling Lauren out, so get your facts straight.
To Katie - everyone who has worked with Lauren for more than a day have said she's wonderful to work with. Everyone has also said she's very shy and not at all like Lorelai in real life so people who don't have their facts straight tend to think she's a horrible person, when she's not.
As for this Amy Pietz, don't know her don't want to know her, but she needs to back up her "horrible" claims with something tangible. Otherwise she's coming off as the horrible person for being b*tchy in an interview instead of professional.
Ashlee, I so agree. I have no idea if she's correct or not, but it doesn't seem very classy for her to publicly say what she did.
I believe it. I always got a sleazy used car salesman vibe from him.
Facts:
1. The pilot for Aliens in America (AiA) was sitting on an NBC shelf for over 18 months with no plans of airing.
2. The CW bought AiA with thoughts of airing with a new cast in 2007.
...
3. GG ended in April of that same year.
4. With CW owning GG and now AiA and still wanting to keep the GG fanbase, the best way it saw to do so was to enlist one of the main actors of GG to AiA -- namely, Scott Patterson.
5. One could easily deduce that AiA would never have seen the light of day if not for Scott Patterson agreeing to portray Gary Tolchuck. Amy Pietz should be thanking Scott Patterson, not ridiculing him.
6. Amy Pietz resume most reads of bit parts and guest roles.
7. Scott Patterson resume reads more starring role positions
8. Both have about the same amount of tenure in the acting field -- who has a larger fan base? Amy Pietz or Scott Patterson?
9. How is it that Scott can praise all the actors he ever works with, even years after-the-fact, and there are a few malcontent who come out of the woodwork with unsubstantiated drivel? David Guarascio and Moses Port had nothing but high praise for all of the show's actors.
10. How does Amy Pietz' remarks promote the new show she is now in??
11. It reeks of self-serving mendacity from start to end.
I'm not a fan of Amy Pietz -- and I certainly don't plan on watching anything she's playing in the future.
@SPA
Dude, calm down. Obviously, you are a fan but I doubt Ms. Pietz called Mr. Patterson a horrible person for the fun of it. What would she get out of calling a D-list (yes, D list, no one other than GG fans knows who he is) a horrible person? He had to have done something to her... and this only adds fuel to the fire of Lauren Graham not liking him either.
