'How To Succeed In Business...' stagehand dies, cancels show

Theatergoers were left waiting for nearly an hour after curtain time on July 22, when a stagehand on the Broadway production of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" unexpectedly passed away behind the scenes.

The New York Times reports that the unidentified individual did not die as a result of any safety issues or accidents on the part of production and that police are claiming it was a drug overdose.

After a few announcements of delays, stars Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette reportedly took the stage to say that a "tragedy in the company" would prevent them from performing that night.

"They said they debated it for a long time, and that there was a tragedy and they didn't feel comfortable performing," one audience member told the Times. "They apologized to everyone, but said it wouldn't be fair to us because they would not have been able to give a good performance."
