Fran Drescher on gay ex husband Peter Marc Jacobson: 'We're best friends'

Fran Drescher is friendly with her ex of 21 years, Peter Marc Jacobson. In fact, the actress tells People magazine, Jacobson is her best friend.Jacobson came out after the couple's marriage ended in 1999.
"He had already been living a gay life away from me after we divorced, and he said, 'I don't want you to be shocked. I'm dating men,'" Drescher tells People.
She adds that Jacobson hinted at his sexuality while they were still married.
"During our marriage he had told me he might be bisexual, but he wanted to stay married," she says. "By the time he told me, I had survived uterine cancer. Nothing could shake me."
Drescher tells People she's glad she's been able to rebuild her relationship with Jacobson and admits she used it as inspiration for her new TV Land sitcom, "Happily Divorced," which premieres June 15.

She's a trooper. If I was with a man that long and he said he 'might' be attracted sexually to men I would tell him we 'definitely' will be getting a divorce.
I'll give him credit for one thing, at least he didn't cheat on her. Or at least that appears to be the way it went down. Because that would have been a whole 'nother altercation altogether.

Her career is in the crapper and, well, what do you do when your career is going nowhere? Either 'admit' you're gay or find some way to support the gay community.
@ed wood...seriously? She's been a very vocal supporter of gay rights for YEARS. If you want to talk smack about somebody, at least have an I.Q. over 10......
