Fat Joe weight loss: Rapper shows off nearly 100-pound shedding in 'Drop a Body' video

Somebody might need to rethink his name. Rapper Joseph "Fat Joe" Cartagena has reportedly dropped nearly 100 pounds from his famously sturdy frame.

In the video for his new single "Drop a Body," Joe is looking noticeably slimmer -- and MediaTakeout cites the weight loss as an effort prompted by "health reasons."

Regardless of what made him make the change, it's a dramatic difference from the Joe of the past.

Here is where we'd normally show you the video depicting the weight loss, but, to be honest, it's kind of gross. He's standing on a pile of dead bodies and, more offensively, there's a few crumby CGI volcanoes in the background. Rap Radar has it, so if that's your thing, knock yourself out.

We'll instead honor him (and the newly imprisoned Ja Rule) with this much more palatable throwback to 2002.
