Buzz Aldrin, 81, divorces third wife, Lois Driggs Cannon

Third time was apparently not the charm for former astronaut and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant, Buzz Aldrin.

The 81-year-old and his third wife, Lois Driggs Cannon, have split after 23 years of marriage. Aldrin cites "irreconcilable differences" in the divorce petition filed Wednesday. The couple reportedly separated just one day prior.

After making it official on Valentine's Day, 1988, what could possibly drive these senior citizens apart after so many years together? No word yet on what caused the sudden break-up, but we imagine it must be pretty juicy!

Aldrin was the second man to step foot on the moon in 1969. He has since co-authored several books and made appearances on an array of TV programs including "30 Rock," "Top Chef" and even "The Simpsons." He competed in the 10th season of "DWTS" and is reportedly the model behind the MTV VMA "Moonman" trophy. Not a bad resume, if you ask us.
