BET Awards get awkward: Chris Brown, Rihanna, and Drake caught in a case of mistaken identity
Warning: This is one of those videos where you just feel so sorry for the person being embarrassed that you'll want to turn it off halfway through. It's seriously cringe-worthy.Nicki Minaj fan Tiffany Green won the chance to present the Coca-Cola Viewers' Choice award at the 2011 BET Awards on Sunday night. Instead of opening envelopes as presenters do at traditional awards shows, the BET Awards presenters read winners' names off of tablets. Unfortunately, when Green started to announce the winner, she had a little trouble.
Apparently, the tablet said that Chris Brown had won the award -- which Green announced -- and then the teleprompter said that the winner was, in fact, Rihanna, so she announced that, too.
A moment later, Terrence Jenkins, a BET personality, announced that the winner was, in fact, Drake, who was waiting backstage to collect.
"The tablet [expletive] said CHRIS BROWN....the TELEPROMPTER said Rihanna. What the [expletive]??????" Green later tweeted, accusing BET of messing with her on purpose.
BET executive Stephen G. Hill took the blame. "That BET Awards Viewer's Choice mix-up was due to human error," he wrote. "And I was the human that made that error. I apologize to ALL affected."
But it gets better -- in the end, the award actually did belong to Chris Brown, bringing him to a total of four awards for the evening.
It may have been painfully awkward, but at least we got a nice giggle out of the confusion on Green's face.

That was ridiculous. Hill needs to be fired for that. You put one name on the tablet, another on the prompter, and then actually bring out a third person?
No wonder these awards are meaningless. No one cares who wins them - not even the organizers!
Well, if they were announcing weak, fake "artists" of the year, THEN THEY WERE SPOT ON!!!
