Anna Nicole Smith: No claim on J. Howard Marshall's fortune

anna-nicole-smith-gi.jpgAnna Nicole Smith and one-time husband J. Howard Marshall are both years dead, but their relationship has lived on in the form of an ongoing courtroom drama surrounding whether or not Smith -- and her heirs -- had any legal claim to Marshall's estate.

On Thursday (June 23), in a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court ruled that in fact Smith did not have a claim on any part of the Marshall family's $1.6 billion. This after a 15-year legal battle that began when Smith sued her late husband's son for failing to give her half his father's millions.

Smith and Marshall married in 1994, despite a 63 year age difference. Fourteen months later, Marshall died and the battle for his fortune began.

Smith died in 2007 from a drug overdose. Her daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, is now four years old and living with her father, a former boyfriend of Smith's.

What's up with the Marshall family! She was married to the man; no doubt there is a typo above as we are talking millions, not $l.6 million. So give Anna Nicole's daughter a lousy million, you greedy people.

Liz you need to get your facts straight!! The Marshalls' are worth billions not millions.

Ms Dannylynn needs to work for her own money (millions).

I think that is pretty sad that the vote went that way.She was married to him and by right should be entitled to some of his money. Her daughter and sole heir should have gotten something, people are so damn greedy and selfish,Marshal's heirs could not spend that much money in their life time, why not share.

She will work probably for millions, she is striking. She will do well just being herself.

Please...the only greedy one was Anna Nicole herself...60+ year age difference...she only married him for his cash...why should her daughter be entitled to...

ANS didn't deserve one thin dime of that money, cosidering she only married the guy for his money in the long run and now justice has been served. Hoping her little girl doesn't turn out like her mom did, once she gets to that age range.

She doesnt need it. She is beautiful and will do very well in the years to come.

Who CARES if she married him for cash. He married her for other reasons too. They used each other! Let's remember he was a consenting adult when they married. It's not like she met him on his deathbed and suddenly got married.
She is still entitled to $$ as his wife unless they had an airtight prenup. Then yes, sucks for her.

Or maybe he was on his deathbed. Regardless, it was HIS life too and he married her.
