Watch Sarah Jessica Parker's 'I Don't Know How She Does It' trailer

Why wait for yet another disappointing "Sex and the City" sequel to find out what happens to Carie Bradshaw next? In "I Don't Know How She Does It" (opening Sept. 16), Sarah Jessica Parker plays a stylish yet harried New Yorker (or, okay, Bostonian) with a complicated life and a tendency for voice-over.

In this construct, Parker plays Kate Reddy -- a tenacious financial manager who also has two young children and an unemployed husband (Greg Kinnear) at home. When Kate gets a big promotion and starts spending lots of time with new business associate Pierce Brosnan, things go predictably off the rails. How will she pull it all back together?

Watch as SJP balances nanny-envy, lice, snide colleagues and too-sleepy-for-sex syndrome in an attempt to make her too-busy life work.

Also keep an eye open for Kate's best friend, played by "Mad Men's" Christina Hendricks.



The movie hits theaters Sept. 16.
