Wanda Sykes feels 'sorry' for racist birthers, mocks Donald Trump's glory seeking
Wouldn't you know it? Wanda Sykes is not a fan of birthers.
The comedian, who's no stranger to targeting conservative politics in her material, recently spoke with the (Canadian!) Vancouver Sun, and she had words for those still questioning President Obama's nation of birth.
"I feel sorry for 'em, they're just sad," she says. "I love that they're hanging it on 'Well, he's not from this country' when they should just face it: You're having issues because a black man is president. That's what it is, and you need to deal with that, to work with that."
No, she doesn't say the actual word, but she pretty much calls them racist.
Given recent events surrounding a celebrity mogul's role in all of the birther business, the paper also got Sykes on record about possible presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
"He's not happy unless he's relevant in some way," she says. "He wants people to be talking about him. I thought he would be happy enough to finally have a decent season of 'Celebrity Apprentice' but, you know, he had to make a little bit more noise than that, I guess."
Sykes brings up an interesting point. Where was Trump's inescapable media campaign during all of those ho-hum seasons of "The Apprentice." You think he'd be a bit more relaxed now that the series is experiencing a bit of a renaissance.

Of course "she pretty much calls them racist".
Wanda Sykes is your typical "Racer" who
calls anyone who criticizes Obama a racist.
The link to this page has a typo:
"bithers"
UGH!
Why is this still an issue?
Double UGH!
I am pretty much with her on the birthers thing. I really do believe a lot of them *not all* have a problem with him just being black and having a funny name. If his name was Bill Smith I doubt it would be that big of a deal. Btw WHITE man here so dont say that just because im black that I am saying all this.
She's a week late, she didn't get the memo from the DNC?
Ruh roh! Looks like the Donald might not be getting the African-American lesbian vote!
What is that, .005% of the entire population?
If I looked like Wanda I'd probably be just as miserable and hateful a human being.
If the most transparent administration of all time would have included his birth certificate from the beginning this would have never happened...Sykes is a smug broad-Trump is a smugass, and Obama is as smug as they come. The way I see it Captain Kangaroo could say more, with more effect without looking down on the masses than any of these...I call that uppity
