'The View's' Elisabeth Hasselbeck explains Osama Bin Laden's death to her kids in a poem
Because she's a model of modern conservative motherhood, "The View's" Elisabeth Hasselbeck came up with a novel strategery for broaching the subject of Osama Bin Laden's recent death with her three small children: poetry. On Wednesday's (May 4) show, Hasselbeck recited a simple self-composed ditty she wrote for her children -- who she claimed are too young to understand any of this anyway, then sat back pleased as punch with her own grisly wit:
"Osama Bin Laden was a very bad guy,
He hurt many people, don't ask me why,
We shot him in the head and now he is dead,
Now close your eyes and go to bed."
We wonder when they'll be old enough to understand that mom is kind of inappropriate.

Huh? Are you retarded? How is that inappropriate? Let me guess. It's because she's a conservative and your a liberal?
Bob it is inappropriate because talking about violent murder to a young child is simply discouraged by most child psychologist, even when this murder was done to a very bad person, and told in a poem. But please feel free to fill your kids heads with as much violence as you like.
Also Bob, in case you missed the memo, "retarded" is really not an appropriate word to be using anymore. It's really sad to see that these days it seems that maybe all republicans are not racist, but all racist seem to be republican.
The republican party has such a rich history, and hate to see what it has become.
Ah yes, political correctness controls all. All racists are Republicans. How about looking at Sen. Reid's comments the other day implying that Sen Rubio sold out his Hispanic heritage because he isn't a Democrat. But yeah, that's not racist at all because it comes from a liberal. And I don't see where exactly in the poem this "violent murder" was described. Number 1, this was not a murder. Number 2, the description is not violent whatsoever. She was trying to explain to her kids the importance of the event in terms and concepts they can understand. Big deal. But yes Collin, since you are also a lefty, you have the moral superiority to dictate what parents can and cannot tell their children.
"We shot him in the head and now he's dead" I guess you're right Bob, that line has no violence in it at all. I write it in notes to love ones all the time.
"Murder" was not the correct word to use, I was wrong in using it. America had every right to kill this man.
I still say there is a better time and a better way to explain this American history to toddlers. I can't wait to see the poem she writes explaining the Holocaust.
And FYI Bob I am a Republican, not a very proud one these days, but I still believe in my party.
I liked Elizabeth's poem
I think she tried and failed. Nothing new to Elisabeth. I am sure her heart was in the right place this time though.
Maybe simply telling her children that Osama was a very bed man who hurt a lot of people, and our country needed to make sure he would never do it again. And we did just that. Now he can never hurt anyone and we are safe from him.
That would have been my approach.
She`s an IDIOT!!!
The look on Barbara Walter's face says it all. What? She couldn't come up with anything that rhymes with massive head wound or killshot? Seriously, I'm not sure why she felt the need to be so graphic with her children "we shot him in the head"?! Wow...
She should have written a poem about Barry, then every in the entertainment media would love her.
