'The Dark Knight Rises': Matthew Modine, Brett Cullen among the latest cast additions
OK, so this maybe isn't quite as cool as the reveal of Bane. Still, the addition of five people to the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises" is worth noting.Matthew Modine, Oscar nominee Tom Conti and Joey King joined Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie on Monday (May 23), Variety reports. Separately, the tade paper notes that Brett Cullen and Chris Ellis have also come aboard the movie.
Per usual with casting news from the movie, information about the characters each actor is playing is sketchy at best. Modine ("Full Metal Jacket," HBO's "Too Big to Fail") is playing a character named Nixon (presumably not Richard), while Cullen ("Lost," "Make It or Break It") is playing a judge and Ellis ("Transformers") is playing a priest.
There's no information about the roles for Conti ("Reuben, Reuben") or the 11-year-old King, who's appeared in "Ramona and Beezus" and "Battle: Los Angeles."
"The Dark Knight Rises" hits theaters in summer 2012.
