Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas stage a 'Desperado' reunion at Cannes 2011

A "Shrek" spin-off probably isn't the reunion project Robert Rodriguez would have picked for "Desperado" co-stars Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas, but it certainly warms the cockles to see the pals on the red carpet at Cannes.

Posing in front of a large pair of botas for a promotional stunt and 15-minute preview of the upcoming "Puss in Boots," Hayek and Banderas hammed it up for the cameras -- with Hayek looking stunning in a Gucci dress and Stella McCartney shades and Banderas rocking the double-denim.

"Puss in Boots" finds Banderas reprising his vocal work for the fairy tale swordsman and Hayek voicing his feline love interest. The movie is schedule for a Nov. 4, 2011, release.
