Rihanna grabbed by fan during 'Today' concert

One fan got a little too close to Rihanna for comfort at Friday (May 27) morning's season-opening "Today" summer concert series performance. The singer kicked off her performance by walking through the audience to the stage.

The unwashed masses were, of course, behind barricades. But that didn't stop one fan from reaching out and grabbing RiRi as she walked by singing "S&M."

Around the 1:19 mark in the video above (or this handy looped clip of the incident), you'll see hands come out and grab the singer around the waist, dragging her toward the barrier. A back-up dancer quickly helps to extricate her and Rihanna continues on to the stage without missing a beat.

The singer then ran through the rest of the singles from her current album and talked about her sexed-up Billboard Awards duet with Britney Spears. We're guessing the grabby fan was, at the very least, ejected from the event.

On Twitter, one fan asked Rihanna what she was thinking when she was grabbed. Her response: "sumn like 'THIS muhf---a better not f--- up my weave.'"

she handled that really well - very professionally - as did her backup dancers - it happened and they kept performing - good for them - though she did look hesitant about getting on that front part of the stage with the fans and no real security - damn crazy *** fans trying to touch singers

I guess the guy just wanted a hug.
