Naomi Campbell accuses Cadbury of being racist, may take legal action
Hide your cellphones because supermodel Naomi Campbell is not pleased. Cadbury is now enduring the wrath of Campbell, 39, after they used her name in an ad for their Dairy Milk Bliss bar. The chocolate company's ad reads, "Move over, Naomi, there's a new diva in town. I'm the world's most pampered bar."
According to The Independent, Campbell says, "I am shocked. It's upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people. I do not find any rumor in this. It is insulting and hurtful."
Cadbury, which is owned by Kraft, has refused to pull the ads and Campbell is reportedly considering "every option available." A spokesperson for Cadbury says the ad was "a light-hearted take on the social pretensions of Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss."
Cadbury was referencing Campbell's notorious anger issues in the ad. In 2008, the British supermodel pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers. She also pleaded guilty to hitting her housekeeper with a BlackBerry in 2009 and in 1998 she pleaded guilty to assaulting her assistant with a telephone. She was also accused of beating an assistant in 2005 with her cellphone.

The only times she is ever in the news now is when her temper gets her in trouble again, she is just desperate for attention.

Nikka, it's not at all racist and she just looks foolish claiming it is. Besides, they have every right to use her name as she is a public figure.
I see it comes in 3 new flavours. I would like Ms. Campbell to indicate which race she feels each of the flavours equals.
Why dont they use her for an advertisement for cheap throwaway cell phones ??? Or unbreakable ones being thrown at people.... just suggesting...but don't make the cells black since that could be considered racist !!!

i wouldn't compare her to a chocolate candy bar but rather a dark brown **** who is secretly ashamed of being black and a discredit to her race.
I can sort of understand Naomi Campbell taking offense. But I honestly don't think that Caddbury meant it in a negative or ignorant context. African Americans have referred to themselves as "chocalate" as a slang term. The slang term "vanilla" is another slang term that refers to Caucasians.
As I said before I can sort of understand her (and other African Americans) taking offense. However, is taking legal action necessary? I think that may be an overraction.
