Meghan McCain calls out 'sexist,' weight-ist Glenn Beck in open letter

Shortly after the release of a skin cancer public service announcement -- featuring a seemingly nude assortment of female celebrities including Meghan McCain, Brandy and Danielle Fishel -- radio host and outgoing FOX personality Glenn Beck mocked the women's bodies on his program.

"I'm getting sick just looking at it," says Beck of the spot. And with each further mention of McCain's name or the word "naked", he pretended to vomit.

"Put some extra clothes on," he suggests. "Like, lots of extra clothes...has she thought about a burqa, just to be extra safe?

Quite justifiably, the comments don't sit well with McCain, who took to her column at The Daily Beast to address Beck's criticism.

"As a person known for his hot body, you must find it easy to judge the weight fluctuations of others," writes McCain, "especially young women."

"There really is no need to make something like my participation in a skin cancer PSA into a sexist rant about my weight and physical appearance, because I'm going to let you in on a little secret, Glenn: you are the only one who looks bad in this scenario, and at the end of the day you have helped me generate publicity for my skin cancer PSA, a cause that I feel quite passionate about."

Beck also apparently riled McCain's mother. Cindy McCain addressed the comments on her (unverified) Twitter account, saying, "I'm so glad Glenn Beck is leaving Fox. Enough vitriol and hate. Glenn you are no rodeo clown. They are decent and nice. You aren't."

Do you think Beck went too far with his comments? They seem especially insensitive given the PSA is only trying to raise awareness about skin cancer.

Who gives a **** about glenn beck anymore? Really.

Awwwwwwwww. Look at little Glenn Beck. His career is taking a nosedive, and he's trying to hold onto a bird so he can still stay relevant for a few seconds longer.

I miss the days of when Glenn Beck was on CNN-Headline News, and he still held onto some sanity. Right now, he's just insecure because his weight has gone up and down more times than a roller coaster car at the county fair. If he's trying to be cute and funny, he has failed spectacularly. And God forbid if anyone he knows ever gets skin cancer because if it ever happens, then he would realize how insensitive he is being. Jerk.

Stay classy, Glen.
To rip on a young woman for trying to raise awareness of skin cancer? A young woman whose father had the most deadly form of skin cancer? Hint: this is why your show got canceled. You ability to raise the bar on douchebaggery to new heights, every day.

I heard the bit this morning, it was kinda funny.
Obviously I can see why the McCains are upset but unfortunately, they are public figures so I guess it comes with the territory.

I LOvE Beck, The people that criticize him, 9 times out of ten are Soros Funded Media Matters Trolls. Soros Money is all over 30 News Organizations including Amanpour...

She is the worst kind of a Republican a Progressive with Globalist One World Agenda like her dad.

Mcfatty is the kind of Elitist Fake Republicans Liberals like..ala Bloomberg, Joe Scarborough, Lindsey Graham, Romney, and Huckabee...
.

Yea he was just trying to get some more attention before he is booted off the air. It worked too because everybody is giving him attention. Granted its mostly bad attention because that junk was uncalled for especially when she was doing a good thing to raise awareness for skin cancer.

In 2012 Obama is gonna need more than Soros money, the Media, Facebook and Google on his side cause the Empty Suit now has a record and it speaks volumes...Bring it on. Besides the standards for the presidency have been so lowered that anybody with a pulse will do.
