Mariah Carey visited by social worker in hospital; Nick Cannon explains to Piers Morgan

Mariah Carey -- brand new mother to twins Monroe and Moroccan -- was visited by a social worker in the hospital after giving birth, according to husband Nick Cannon.

In a Thursday (May 12) interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, Cannon said someone called Child Protective Services on Carey after she drank some dark beer. Cannon says Mariah drank the Guinness at the suggestion of a nurse, who said the beer would help with breastfeeding.  

"I don't know if someone overheard that [suggestion], but people will do anything to conjure up a story," said Cannon.

Carey gave birth to the twins in May. She and the babies remain in the hospital.
