Jimmy Kimmel says goodbye to Oprah, with an assist from Boyz II Men

jimmy-kimmel-oprah-goodbye.jpgTributes to Oprah Winfrey will be coming from all corners of the entertainment universe Wednesday (May 25) on the occasion of her final daytime show. But we don't think we'll see a funnier -- or more tuneful -- one than the one Jimmy Kimmel offered on his show Tuesday night.

Kimmel enlisted the help of a Boyz II Men for a musical tribute to Oprah. Together they tweaked the lyrics of "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" to craft a tribute to Winfrey that included lyrics like "I watch your show/on my Tivo/Your favorite things I need" and "I'll miss the way/you gave out cars." Kimmel also pours one out for his departing fellow host.

It's pretty funny stuff (particularly the goofy "Oprah" clips that pepper the video), but also kind of sweet. And if we had to guess, we'd bet there's genuine mourning going on in the writers room of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and other late-night shows -- because it's not easy to cope with losing a go-to source of monologue jokes.

Take a look at the "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Oprah Winfrey":
