Jill Scott before and after: Singer loses 50 pounds, a man, and a record label and returns better than ever

After four years without a new record, soul singer Jill Scott is back in the game with her new album "The Light Of the Sun." She's looking better than ever, having lost 50 lbs. Springing back after a rough split from her fiance Lil' John Roberts and a messy break from her record label, Scott is focusing on what's important to her: her son and her music.

"The Light of the Sun" is her fourth studio album and the follow-up to Grammy nominated "The Real Thing." She's left Hidden Beach Records behind and has found a new home with Warner Bros. Music.

"I'm in a good place," she says. "I'm past caring about some things that never mattered in the first place and in love with my baby boy. I'm also unafraid. I know how much music has always meant to me, how much it means to us all, and I know there's someone out there, maybe just one someone, who can feel inspired by being brave."
