'Gossip Girl' Met Costume Gala showdown: Blake Lively vs. Leighton Meester
Ah, we truly love the Metropolitan Institute of Costume Gala.
Who doesn't love seeing what some of Hollywood's hottest stars wear on one of fashion's biggest nights? There's two stars we always love seeing on the red carpet -- "Gossip Girl" co-stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, who are quickly becoming style icons for Young Hollywood. Both Lively and Meester attended the 2011 Costume Met Gala on Monday, May 2, and went for wildly different looks.
Lively walked the red carpet with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld wearing -- what else? -- Chanel. She is the brand's latest spokesperson after all. Lively wore a beige tulle pailette embroidered dress with chiffon sash that helped her newly red hair stand out.
Meester went for an edgier look, wearing a black Louis Vuitton dress (and shoes) that showed flashes of her stomach. To keep the focus on her dress, Meester accessorized with simple drop earrings and pulled her hair back into a low chignon bun.

Leighton!! I can't believe that Blake is wearing Chanel, it looks so ordinary to me, like she didn't make an effort to dress up..
I think Blake looks better than usual here. Her ***** aren't exploding out of her dress which is far more attractive than her normal look.
Leighton's outfit is chic. I like it.
Blake resembles a beauty-pageant contestant in that dress. What's with the sash? Blake is lovely and would win any beauty pageant hands down, But Karl Lagerfeld should know how to dress his muse better. A bit disapponted.
