Demi Lovato tweets picture of her bikini body

Demi Lovato has been working hard to get herself in shape and ready for the summer and wants you to know it.

In November 2010, Lovato entered rehab to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues. After completing her treatment, Lovato opened up to "20/20" about her struggles (cutting herself, bulimia and bipolar disorder), saying, "The real reason why I'm sitting down with you is to open up the eyes of so many young girls, that it doesn't have to be this way."

We're thinking this was the message of picture Lovato posted on Twitter on May 16. "I've been working so hard to get healthy and fit," Lovato tweeted. "I can't believe I'm about to do this but I'm so excited.. Here's my bikini time body!"

The singer/actress then posted a picture of herself in a white bikini looking happy and healthy. We're happy to see Lovato looking confident after being "completely ashamed" of her body in the past. 

After posting the bikini picture, Lovato tweeted this message to her Twitter followers: "I never thought I'd ever feel confident enough to ever to that. I'm excited how far I've come since being completely ashamed of my body. I want any girl/guy out there who struggles with body image or confidence to know that it IS possible to find peace with yourself. It hasn't been easy, but it starts with a commitment to yourself.. Your mind.. And your soul. And trust me, I'm still working at it!"
