Courtney Love sued by former lawyers for libel
This isn't the first time Courtney Love's mouth -- or Twitter account -- has landed her in hot water. Now Love's former attorneys are suing the singer/Twitterer for libel. Frederic L. Gordon and Rhonda J. Holmes claim Love:"[P]ublished malicious, false and libelous statements about Holmes, using her (Love's) fame and influence to reach millions of people in attempt to cause irreparable damage to Plaintiffs' business, name and reputation."
Love allegedly tweeted a message saying, "I was f--ing devastated when Rhonda J. Holmes Esq of San Diego was bought off." Holmes and Gordon stopped representing Holmes in a fraud case after she -- according to them -- failed to remain sober.
According to The Wrap, Love also said in an interview that Holmes "disappeared" after someone "got to her" and convinced Holmes not to represent Love.
The lawyers are suing for unspecificed charges, court costs and attorneys' fees.
