Arnold Schwarzenegger puts brakes on return to acting; concentrating on 'personal matters'

arnold-schwarzenegger-gi.jpgAmidst a still-unfolding scandal involving extramarital affairs and an out-of-wedlock child, Arnold Schwarzenegger has decided to put his not-yet-relaunched acting career on hold.

"At the request of Arnold Schwarzenegger we asked Creative Artists Agency to inform all his motion picture projects currently underway or being negotiated to stop planning until further notice," Patrick Knapp, entertainment counsel to Schwarzenegger, wrote in a statement.

"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines," the statement continues. "This includes "Cry Macho," "The Terminator" franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."

Earlier this week, Schwarzenegger admitted to fathering a child with Mildred Baena, a member of his household staff. "There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused," said Schwarzenegger in a statement. "I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."

Also on Thursday (May 19) another woman surfaced claiming to have had an affair with Schwarzenegger.

[Update: Reps for Stan Lee Comics confirmed to TMZ.com that the company will not be going forward with its planned "Governator" comic series.]
