Alec Baldwin slugs John Krasinski in the name of capitalism. Or the Yankees. Same diff.
New Era baseball cap company, an entity which some of us non-sportsfan types may not have been familiar with until now, is back with another ad landing them square in the middle of the pop culture matrix.
This is the second ad featuring "30 Rock's" Alec Baldwin (Yankee Fan) and "The Office's" John Krasinski (Red Sox fan). If you missed it, here's the first.
What's important to not here is that one need not know a thing about either the Yankees or the Red Sox to enjoy the ad, which really stands on its own and makes the argument that one would be better served watching four hours of this than some game where grown men who chew tobacco and wear tight pants hit balls with sticks.
Anyway, in the ad, Baldwin bursts in to Krasinski's apartment and, mistakenly believing the Sox have bested the Yankees, punches Krasinski in the face. He then tries to atone for his rash violent outburst by paying Krasinski and telling him to get his face fixed. "But it's not broken," says Krasinski. "Just get it fixed," deadpans Baldwin.
Chuckle. And to think all this will apparently sell more baseball caps.
