Alec Baldwin: Check out his 'Rock of Ages' aging rocker look

During his hiatus from "30 Rock," which returns mid-season to NBC, Alec Baldwin has left Jack Donaghy behind. Far, far, behind. His new gig couldn't be further from his usual role as the charmingly blunt television VP, as you can see from this first photo of Baldwin on set with co-star Russell Brand.

Baldwin plays an aging rocker who is desperate to hang onto the glory days, so he opens the Bourbon Room, a rock on the Sunset Strip. A remake of the '80s flick, the movie also stars Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman and Julianne Hough.

Baldwin and Brand tweeted the photo on Tuesday, as did director Adam Shankman. "First look! World premiere! Russell and Alec making my life heaven," he wrote.
