Watch Barack Obama discuss birth certificate with Oprah Winfrey
Just a few hours after releasing a copy of his original birth certificate and discussing the document in a press conference, President Barack Obama flew to Chicago with First Lady Michelle to tape an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
Part of the interview (which will air in full on May 2), posted by ABC News, includes the president's further reactions on the "birther" debate.
"When it first came up, were you thinking, I hope I was born here?" Winfrey asks.
"Can I just say I was there, so I knew," Obama responds to the audience's amusement. "I knew I had been born. I remembered it."
Speaking more seriously though, the president explained why he decided to finally address the matter. "Two weeks ago a huge debate was initiated about where our budget needs to go," he says. "During the course of this major debate where I gave a big speech and the Republicans voted on their proposal, the biggest news was this birth certificate thing."
"We are living in a very serious time," he adds. "And America has huge potential and opportunity to seize the 21st century. We're only gonna get there, though, if we have a serious conversation about the things that matter to people."

Awesome. Oprah totally beats Trump.
But by name, should Trump trump Oprah?
But by name, shouldn't Trump trump Oprah?
shouldn't*
Nice pic of the three stooges.
Obama runs home to mother Oprah to make sure she stumps for him in 2012. I remember in '08 when I was living in L.A. Obama came to town with Oprah, and after she spoke, over half the audience left and did not stay to hear Obama speak...lol.
When was the last time he took on real questions without a controlled environment. The facebook thing was a joke. Velma Hart nailed him cause she looke like a friendly black woman. We are on the verge of financial collapse but then again that was the plan all along. You can't usher in Socialism if everything is OK ala Fox * Piven, Alinsky or Ayers and Dhorn. Oprah as most of Hollywood are the Obama regime's "Useful Idiots" * Lenin would be proud.
Why is google/facebook aside from campaigning for him also tracking Americans and mining all their info for the govt to have access to. Remember the stimulus when the owners of prosperous Auto dealers were shut down if they were in republican areas and the democrat areas were not even if they were losing money.
"Obama doesn't have time for silliness" Well maybe if he got off the basketball courts, golf courses, Oprah's Couch, Hollywood and Sharpton's fundraisers maybe just maybe he will notice he is succeeding at destroying the country while the Media and Hollywood dazzles us with
