Volkswagen Beetle redesigned: The 21st century bug is here and male friendly
The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is debuting with a bang. The self proclaimed 21st Century bug was unveiled on Monday's (Apr. 18) "Live with Regis and Kelly" and is garnering quite a bit of buzz already.
In an obvious attempt to appeal to a broader (cough, male) demographic, the new design is bigger and sleeker while still maintaining that signature shape that made it famous. The edgy new punch buggy also boasts a 200-horsepower, turbo charged engine and Fender premium sound system.
Volkswagon is honoring the introduction of it's newest redesign with a live Auto Show in New York City. The Black Eyed Peas will take MTV's World Stage at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST in celebration of the automotive icon.
