Sophia Cranston is Kate Middleton's wedding dress designer; there may be decoy dresses
More details seem to spill almost daily as we get closer to the Royal Wedding. The latest is a big one - Sophia Cranston is reportedly designing Kate Middleton's wedding gown, according to the Huffington Post. The 34-year-old Cranston won Designer of the Year at London's Graduate Fashion Week in 1999 and apprenticed under Alexander McQueen before starting the Temperley label ith Alice Temperley in 2000. Since then, Cranston has spread her wings and created her own labe, Libelula. Kate famously wore one of Cranston's designs in Yorkshire back in January - a black velvet Dulwich coat with a diamante clasp.
As far as details about the dress go, London's Daily Mails says they have a source that reports the dress is ivory satin and lace, with a pearl button detail and a 10ft train, which Kate reportedly started designing herself before approaching Cranston about designing it.
Finally, Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Kate may have commissioned two decoy dresses, both to throw everyone off the scent as to what her dress looks like before the big day and also just in case anything were to happen to the real dress.
If you just can't wait until the big day on April 29, be sure to check out Lifetime's movie "William & Kate," premiering Monday night (April 18) at 9 p.m. ET. Star Louise Linton told Zap2it the cast had a "Breakfast Club"-like camaraderie.
