Nicolas Cage dares cops to arrest him, so they do

Nicolas Cage was arrested early Saturday (April 16) in New Orleans on a charge of domestic abuse following an argument with his wife.

And also following Cage reportedly telling officers on the scene, "Why don't you just arrest me?" Which they did.

Here's what happened: According to TMZ, a cab driver called police after seeing a "very drunk" Cage having a loud argument with his wife, Alice, on a New Orleans street. The cabbie also reportedly told police that Cage pushed his wife.

Officers arrived at the scene and initially just tried to get the couple to quiet down and go home. Cage then issued his request/dare to be arrested, and the officers obliged. He was booked on charges of domestic abuse and disturbing the peace, although Alice says there was no physical contact.
