Nicki Minaj officially joins Britney Spears' 'Femme Fatale' tour

After weeks of speculation, it's been confirmed that rapper Nicki Minaj will be joining Britney Spears' "Femme Fatale" tour as a special guest this summer. Britney announced the news on her official website. Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo will open every tour stop.

"This is the Femme Fatale tour and I'm thrilled to have the hot Nicki Minaj join me and Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo will get everyone on the dance floor," Spears says. "Can't wait to take the Femme Fatales on the road."

Soon after, Minaj posted a message to her fans on her blog and said, "So, yes! I'm sooo excited to finally reveal this incredible news! It's obviously an honor to tour with this amazing woman."

The two stars have been tweeting messages to each other all day, including Nicki tweeting Britney, "Let's keep the 'other thing' a secret for now... ;)" Could a duet be in the works? One can only dream.

Tickets for select markets go on sale beginning April 30th at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. The tour officially begins on June 17, in Sacramento, California.
