Michelle Williams, Spike Jonze to reunite? First he must 'prove himself'
Michelle Williams is garnering attention from her performances in "Meek's Cutoff" and "Blue Valentine," but could she also be catching the eye of ex-flame Spike Jonze?The two split back in 2009, though it is now being reported that Jonze has reached out to the blonde beauty in an attempt to win her back.
The Daily Mail reports that the director invited the actress to an LCD Soundsystem show in New York earlier this month, but Williams is hesitant to rush back in. Says a source, "They are making a tentative go of their relationship again but Michelle is nervous. Spike broke her heart the first time around.
"He's promised that he's a changed man who is ready for commitment, but Michelle has told him to prove himself before she can trust him again," they continue.
No word from either camp on the pending relationship, but we can't blame Williams for being guarded. We also can't take this news without a grain or two of salt for the time being.
Back in January, she was quoted in Marie Claire as being "respectful" of the absence left by her late fiance, Heath Ledger, who is also the father to her daughter, Matilda.
"Nothing will fit in that hole because what we want back there we can't get, which is this one person. I'm not going to rush anything and scamper around like a mad person and make myself crazy," she said.
"The idea that you can get everything you want from one person is destructive," she continued. "Maybe when you accept that the number is closer to 50 or 60 or 70 percent, that's when you can start to make some progress in choosing the right person. I don't want to make a mistake that big, and that saddens me, because it's harder to let yourself go."
