Kristin Chenoweth picks up GLAAD Awards honor
Some of TV's biggest hits walked away with honors from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards, held Sunday (April 10) in Los Angeles. Kristin Chenoweth was honored with the Vanguard Award, presented to actors who increase the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community in the media. Chenoweth took very public exception to a Newsweek article that appeared in 2010 which stated that gay actors can't play straight roles.
"Glee" and "Modern Family" tied for outstanding comedy series, "Project Runway" took outstanding reality program and MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell won for best news segment for an interview he did with a gay Texas City, Texas councilmember.
