Kim Kardashian peeved about Cosmo cover; Ashley Judd apologizes for rap rant

kim-kardashian-cosmo.jpgKim Kardashian was surprised to find herself on the cover of the Turkish edition of Cosmopolitan magazine this month. Apparently the photo was used without her permission. The Armenian-American took to her blog to mildly express her dismay, writing "Cosmopolitan Magazine has a number of international editions all around the world that run in various territories, and when I did this shoot for the international covers I had no idea that Turkey was planning to run my story on their cover THIS month, considering Genocide Remembrance Day is this month." Kardashian also appears on the cover of the Armenian version of the mag, and says she considers that "a huge honor." [Kim Kardashian]

Ashley Judd is backing off some pretty harsh words she had for rap in her new memoir, "All That is Bitter and Sweet." The actress was called out by several, including The Roots' Questlove, last week when this quote surfaced: "As far as I'm concerned most rap and hip-hop music -- with its rape culture and insanely abusive lyrics and depictions of girls and women as 'ho's -- is the contemporary soundtrack of misogyny." Judd, who perhaps has an NWA album stuck on shuffle, apologized on the Russell Simmons-owned Web site Global Grind, writing, "I have looked closely at the feedback I have received about those two paragraphs, and absolutely see your points. And I fully capitulate to your rightness, and again humbly offer my heartfelt amends for not having been able to see the fault in my writing, and not having anticipated it would be painful for so many." Then she went on to make an ill-advised comment about bluegrass. Oy. [The FABlife]

"Glee's" Dianna Agron is dating Chris Evans, star of "Captain America: The First Avenger." According to InTouch, the couple has been "casually dating" since meeting at a February pre-Oscar party. Also in February, Agron and "I Am Number Four" co-star Alex Pettyfer split, just weeks after shooting down engagement rumors. [InTouch]

Go Diana!!! Can you say Upgrade!!!

Why would AJ apologize about that? She could not be more RIGHT!I guess some of us aren't afraid to speak the truth and can stand behind our words and not be bullied into recanting. What a let down Ashley.

I have to agree with Ashley's first comments. Today's rap and hip-hop culture is all about chick banging, ghetto thumping, baby makin' music. It's become common place and as accepted as the weather report, to have openly sexual and perverted lyrics played on the airwaves.

But I guess if you say this stuff, your a racist and might be considered a right-winger. Hence, Ashley had to make her mea culpa, to stay in the cool people club.

Yeah, you'd have to be living under a rock not knowing the issue between Armenians and the Turkish. With Armenian celebrities like the Karadashians and Cher keeping this unforgotten genocide in the news, how could Cosmo not know how that cover would be perceived?

With regard to Ashley Judd's comment about Hip Hop, I noticed no backlash from Lil Wayne, Luke Skyywalker of 2 Live Crew, or to any other rap artist to whom she might be referring.

No one should paint any artistic expression with a wide brush, but the fun days of Hip Hop with groups like Run-DMC are long over.

What's even worse is that women flock to these degenerates and their misogynistic lyrics if for no other reason that it generates billions of dollars every year.

To Questlove of the Roots, I say if the shoe fits, wear it. If not, talk to Cinderella with the "Diamond Grill and Big Azz Chain" and tell them to stop denigrating black women for entertainment value.

It's easy to blame the rappers, but all the blame has to go to the owners of the record companies. They have all the power. The owners who also own all distribution, allow these rappers to use profanity, degrade woman and promote killing each other not knowing their taking part in their own destruction. It's very interesting to know that they allow all of this to go on in rap music but not in country music which I must say that Ashley's mother and sister is a part of.

Kim should be happy to be on the cover of any magazine because she's not an actual celebrity! You can't consider a talentless woman to be a celeb just because she had a sex tape. That's ridiculous. And only her father was Armenian besides what has Kim done for the Armenian community anyway besides make them look bad?

Judd says she was sexually abused at the hands of an old man from her neighborhood. I can bet you one thing he wasn't listening to Hip-Hop, more then likely it was Country Western or Hard Rock, from what I hear thats the best music for sexual abuse because no one can hear you screaming for help because their to busy throwing up.

I cant remember a movie she was in that was about anything or worth seeing, does anyone remember her being a box office draw. When going broke or low on funds write a book and say some dumb stuff to get attention or create a buzz.

I talk to family members from the area she grew up in and they say the whole family's a bunch rude screw balls in other words they are Nut Jobs with no manners.
