Jeff Bridges records solo album for Blue Note Records
Jeff Bridges is about to take his musical skills to the next level. The actor, who won an Academy Award for his role as a washed up country singer in "Crazy Heart," has signed on for a solo album through the Blue Note Records.
The jazz record label released a statement on Tuesday, telling The Hollywood Reporter that Bridges will "contribute several of his own compositions." The dude is also expected to perform songs by Stephen Bruton and John Goodwin, Greg Brown, Bo Ramsey, Tom Waits and more.
Bridges is looking crazy awesome on the cover of Esquire's May Music issue, rocking a mic and a suit like nobody's business.
"We're here for such a short period of time," Bridges says. "Live like you're already dead, man. Have a good time. Do your best. Let it all come ripping right through you."
Bridges will team up with producer T-Bone Burnett for the album, with whom he has a bit of a history. After meeting on the set of "Heaven's Gate," Burnette has also co-written "The Weary Kind" and other songs for "Crazy Heart," in addition to selecting songs for "The Big Lebowski" soundtrack."
The album is expected for an August release.
