Happy Birthday, Tony Danza and Queen Elizabeth!
It tickles us that Tony Danza of "Who's the Boss" and Queen Elizabeth II, who is kind of the boss of England, have the same birthday. Danza turns 60 Thursday, April 21. He is best known for starring in "Taxi" and "Who's the Boss," for which he earned four Golden Globe nominations and one Emmy noms. In addition to acting, Danza wrestled in college, was a professional boxer for a time and worked in the circus for five years. Huh. Happy 60th Birthday, Micelli!
And across the pond, Queen Elizabeth II is 85 years young April 21. She attended a Maundy Thursday celebration at Westminster Abbey for her birthday, flanked by the Yeoman Warders (or "Beefeaters") in their formal uniforms, which they only wear on special occasions. While April 21 is the Queen's actual day of birth, her official birthday celebration is held in June so that there can be outdoor celebrations. We were actually in attendance for that five years ago and got to watch the Queen ride by in a carriage.
We also would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Andie McDowell, James McAvoy, Nicole Sullivan, Rob Riggle, Charles Grodin, Iggy Pop, Patti Lupone and Charlotte Bronte.
