Death Cab for Cutie 'You Are A Tourist' video to make history
Indie rockers Death Cab for Cutie will make history on Tuesday (Apr. 5) when they film the music video for their latest single, "You Are A Tourist." Not only are fans invited to watch the whole shoot live as it's being recorded via www.youareatourist.com, but the video itself will be a first of it's kind. Death Cab will produce the first-ever live, scripted, single-take music video to go along with the song.
It's all going down on Tuesday at 7 pm EST/ 4 pm PST thanks to a partnership between Atlantic Records and Bing, which will offer exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and videos on their Facebook page. RedLaser has created a QR Code, which we've posted below, that allows fans to instantly add all the event details to your smartphone's calendar. All you have to do is download the RedLaser free app and scan the code.
We're excited to see how the video comes out, but are actually more excited to be able to watch production itself without all the frills and commentary you'd typically find on an MTV special. "You Are A Tourist" is the first single off their upcoming album, "Codes And Keys," which hits stores May 31st.
Wonder if Zooey Deschanel will be on hand to support her hubby, front man Ben Gibbard?
And in case you're interested in trying out that RedLaser app, here's the code:
