Could a Cee Lo Green, Keri Hilson collaboration be in the works? We play musical matchmaker
There's some mutual love going on between Keri Hilson and Cee Lo Green, but it's purely in the professional sense, of course. When Zap2it chatted with the "Pretty Girl Rock" singer back in February, she told us without an ounce of hesitation that her dream collaboration would be with Grammy Award winner, Cee Lo Green.
We were lucky enough to sit down with Mr. Green himself in the studio, where he is promoting a collaboration of sorts with Duracell as part of their "Power those who protect us" program, which supports volunteer firefighters. Green is putting a new twist on his smash hit "Forget You", re-recording it with new lyrics to be titled "Thank You."
We took the opportunity with Green to pass along Hilson's kind words, and asked if he would consider getting together with her in the studio.
"Of course I'd do something with Keri," he says. "I love her!"
As for his own dream collaboration, Green hasn't had much luck wooing British singer-songwriter, Sade, into the studio with him -- but that doesn't mean he's giving up.
"I mentioned earlier that I wanted to work with Sade on my last album," he tells us. "But she wasn't able. And I didn't really have my expectations up so high because I knew that she had never collaborated with anyone before, and I thought that maybe I could smooth talk her and be an exception for once. But I wasn't able. I'll keep trying for her though."
If Green still can't land a track with Sade, he has a pretty solid pick that's next in line. Watch the video below to find out who.
