Anne Hathaway opens up on Oscar critics; Study finds her 'more likable' than James Franco

franco-hathaway-oscars.jpgWe've already heard what James Franco has to say about the harsh criticism of the 2011 Academy Awards -- He wasn't stoned! In a Thursday (Apr. 7) appearance on "Today," Anne Hathaway tells Matt Lauer her feelings on the critics and the experience in general.
"They were tough. They said we were the worst show ever, so I think that qualifies as tough! But what I've found is when I think about the Oscars now I think about it in several different experiences.

There was the critical reaction, which were awful, but then there were the people who've been coming up to me since then who stop and say, 'I thought it was fantastic. I had a great time, I watched it with my whole family and we were entertained the whole time' and I'm very grateful to those people and glad they felt that way.

And then there's my memory of it, which is whether it was great, whether it stunk -- who knows. I still got to walk out in the Kodak and see those people and will always be able to have that and tell my grand kids hopefully."

As for whether she'd do it again, we're thinking Hathaway would pass on the offer.

"Why not," she reluctantly responds. Adding, "I don't know, maybe. Perhaps... No."

There is good news for Hathaway in the wake of the highly discussed award show. The Hollywood Reporter found a survey that lists Hathaway as "more likable, more entertaining and more articulate" than co-host Franco. The national survey (of just 241 viewers -- Grain of salt, taken) resulted in 51% of viewers hoping for a hosting return of Hathaway, with only 26% pulling for a Franco repeat.

To be fair to Anne, very few of the negative reviews that I read said much bad about her; it was mostly aimed at Franco or at the production as a whole. I don't think Anne has to "live it down" the way some have suggested Franco will need to (and how Letterman had to). I'd like to see her host again, only solo (or perhaps as co-host to Billy Crystal).

Hathaway & Jackman 2012

Anne Hathaway is the antithesis of James Franco. She is very classy. She didn't badmouth the Oscar producers, Oscar writers, nor her mannequin of a co-host. Last week, James placed the blame on the writers and his co-host for making him look stoned- even though he always has a stoned demeanor. Anne will go far in the entertainment business because she is multi-talented and she doesn't throw people under the bus for her gain. I can't say that about James Franco.

Time for new hosts as this should be a one and done experiment.

I much rather see Franco hosting again and alone than having hathaway as a host...

51% of this survey viewers want to c her ***** again... the other 26% wants talent.

To begin with why the hell would anyone ask anne hathaway to host the show again?! r we running out of hosts?
