'American Idol's' Jacob Lusk's jail time - he sang to the inmates

jacob-lusk-mugshot-american-idol.jpg"American Idol" finalist Jacob Lusk has apparently spent some time in the pokey. The Big House. The hoosegow. But in true Jacob fashion, he used the time to practice his singing.

According to TMZ, back in Feb. 2009, Jacob was cited for riding an LA Metro train without a ticket. When he blew off his court date, an arrest warrant was issued. Fast-forward to November 2010 -  Jacob is pulled over in a traffic stop (the day after he got his Golden Ticket to Hollywood) and the cop sees the arrest warrant and takes him in.

Jacob serves his three days in jail, but upon release, pleads with the judge not to put him on probation - because if he's on probation, he can't compete on "Idol." The judge agrees and now here we are.

But the best part? TMZ also reports that while in jail, Jacob constantly serenaded his fellow inmates with tunes and that one guard described it as "bad ass."

Heh. That's kinda cool. He screwed up, did his time and still managed to be the crazy Jacob we all know and love.

does that mean that he should leave Idol? Everyone else had to

Yeah, Jay. He should be kicked off, because he's obviously a major threat to society.

I'm not sure if other contestants can feel safe knowing that a guy who wouldn't by a train ticket is sleeping in the next room.

And when the Idol tour comes to YOUR town, are you going to be able to sleep knowing he might be planning to nab a free bus ride?

And we all know this is just a gateway crime. Where will it end? Jaywalking? Cutting in line at Six Flags? Tossing a recyclable can into the garbage?

I'm outraged.

He should be appreciative that he had an understanding judge. He was very lucky.

Thanks Mack for that hilarious reply! I'm having a bad day and that just helped it get a little bit better. Quite witty.

"Still managed to be the crazy Jacob we know and love"? Jacob doesn't act crazy. Over dramatic, yes, but crazy? No. James Durbin and Casey Abrams are the "Idol" contestants I think of as being the craziest or zaniest.

We don't have to crucify him, do we? I think he must have learnt his lesson. He is a good guy though. Things happen DON'T THEY?
So let him be.
