Alex Pettyfer's thankful crotch and Hollywood bashing: Just pulling our chain?

Oh, we love ourselves a bad boy, don't we? "I Am Number Four" star and ex-boyfriend to "Glee's" Dianna Agron, British actor Alex Pettyfer, just did a revealing article for VMan magazine, which has Hollywood all in a tizzy.

Apparently, he has a less than favorable take on the town and industry, which we don't entirely disagree with him on. But, the Brit may have the last laugh after the Hollywood media's mass condemnation of his statements.

After a closer inspection (granted, we haven't seen the entire interview yet), we think Pettyfer is just pulling our chain:

On having "Thank You" tattooed above his crotch: "In case I forget to say it," he apparently says with a wink. Ah, that wink says it all. After further digging, we found that the tattoo is most likely just his first name in Japanese characters. Compare and contrast above.

Silly media.

On Los Angeles: "It's still a s--t hole," Pettyfer says. "I think it's this insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear. Geographically it's fantastic, but socially it's disgusting. I wish they'd run all the c--ts out."

We hate to defend the use of the C-word, but in this context we don't believe he's referring to women as the media has deduced. One of our staff anglophiles tells us that the Brits use the word to refer to d-bags in general. Notice, we're not defending Los Angeles.

On his chosen profession: "Being an actor is like being in prison," he says. "You go, you serve your time, you try and replicate Johnny Depp's career and then you move to Paris."

We're sure Depp takes this as a compliment and Pettyfer means it as such.

Though, if he ever does find himself in a real prison, we'd suggest Pettyfer not tell the inmates his tattoo means "Thank You."

Exactly, "c*nt" is not as horrible a word to Brits/Australians/Kiwis. I appreciate your work telling a different side (ie. researching unlike the other sites) of this story. I'm not sure why it suddenly has blown up. The pictures from the photo shoot have been floating around since January.

HOT BOD!!!!!MARRY ME ALEX PETTYFER

Any white guy with a tattoo of Asian writing has to be a douche bag. A total try-hard at the very least.

Asian tats are always amazing!!!!

Jeez, this guy is really impressed with himself. Ugh.

THANK YOU FOR THIS ARTICLE!!! I'm glad that you haven't blown things out of proportion like Ted over at E! did! I'm now thinking that he was being personal not professional. He's the real d-bag for spreading slanderous and misleading accusations. I knew that Alex was being cheeky about his tattoo. The wink gave it away. I'm a Brit so I know that the word c--t is not an insult to women. It basically means a--hole.

Thanks for being the voice of reason with all this B.S. outrage over nothing. He isn't saying anything about L.A. or the industry that a million others haven't said before.

Congrats, this is the best article I found on the entire Internet about that interview. This is how i'd like a journalist to work! Finding out the facts instead of repeating stupid things!

I study Japanese and I know katakana, and yes the Tattoo is his name in japanese and not thank you like he said

Thank you for this article. I hope it will land on a popular magazine and smash those hypocrites that tried to ruin Alex's career. The best thing that Alex did is that he never tried to get back at the reports. He's a gentleman proven to the end. Alex was judged few months ago, but now, history is judging those idiots.
