Willow Smith on 'The Oprah Show': Talks Justin Bieber tour and the 'not so best dressed' lists
Willow Smith took a break from whipping her hair to help Oprah Winfrey co-host her "Worlds Most Talented Kids" episode on Tuesday (Mar. 1) and she blew us away with her poise and natural charm that is not normal for any 10-year-old to possess. The "21st Century Girl" singer told Oprah all about her day-to-day, teaming up with Justin Bieber and those fashion choices.
"It's a lot of work," Willow says of her success. "But it's like, 50% work and 102% fun."
She keeps a busy schedule, starting off her days with ballet class followed by school and then recording. No doubt she needs to be in tip-top shape for her European tour where she'll open for the Biebs.
"I am so excited," Willow gushes. "When he's performing I get to learn a lot from him. He's energetic and goes around stage."
If her everyday fashion choices are any indication, we have no doubt she'll pick out some crazy costume choices for the stage. At such a young age she's already topped plenty of best dressed and as Oprah put it, "not so best dressed" lists.
Only adding to our crazy love for this little peanut, when asked if she prefers to be on the best dressed end of things, Willow responds "Doesn't make a difference." Not only that, she admits to having a relatively small closet and says that she often donates her clothes.
Will someone please get Willow her own show on the ASAP? That girl is more naturally gifted than half the hosts on TV today. Make it happen, Oprah.
The duo spent the hour revisiting talented kids from past episodes and meeting some new ones along the way. Lenny Kravitz even dropped by to surprise one of his biggest (and most talented) fans with a jam session.
We loved the little snippet of 6-year-old Willow making her first appearance on the show. So precious!

I LOVE U JUSTIN
I'm a fan of Willow and Jaden Smith (of their clear talent and their work), but I have to agree with Robert in his reply here. Both kids need a dose of humility. I'm guessing their parents are trying to instill a sense of confidence in their children... but there's a difference between confidence and being cocky, both kids have crossed the line to cocky.
Right now the public seems to think Willow and Jaden's cockyness is cute... but encouraging the behavior is only going to make it grow into something worse. The longer these kids go on thinking their attitudes are cool and fine, the harder it will be to remove it.
Willow is going to grow up into a mega Diva at this rate. NOT a good thing. They're even giving her songs to sing that fit this stance... just listen to her description of what "Whip My Hair" is about and the lyrics of her new song "21st Century Girl".
To me it sounds like Jada is turning Willow into a Material Girl or at least encouraging it (maybe both). Did you hear Willow talk about her wardrobe on this Oprah episode? She says when she doesn't wear something she donates it (good) but I've got to wonder about the "I'm not wearing it" bit. I have this sneaky feeling that she might wear something a few times, tire of it then her parents buy her a new set of expensive clothes... always buying and buying. I wouldn't be surprised to find out she doesn't wear something more than 5 times.

I think that Willow seemed too cocky and a bit , um, under educated. Her supposed "talent" obviously was no where near the level of the other kids who were featured on the show and who displayed high levels of real talent, accomplishment, and humility. If acting "grown" and talking to adults like they are her peers are considered talents , then Willow has talent. The other kids really outclassed Willow in more ways than one for which I do not blame Willow; I blame her parents. Without even considering her math skills with per cents , she needs to get off of the stage and into a school. She is such a pretty girl. I wish that her parents would focus on making her pretty smart rather than pretty cocky.
Willow is fine. Maybe signing and perform is her thing and it was determined early. May she doen't like math. Who knows. My child was fortunate enough to discover she likes math and science at age four. She has been doing experiments, attending and excelling in science programs ever since. She on track to have her college education paid for by age 14. So what, Willow has started her career at age 10. Starting early didn't hurt Raven Symone or the Olson twins.
